Nooblar Wammo needs build advice
Greetings @ all, just started playing warrior and came up with a nice hammer build for PvE. maybe anyone can think of some critique?
Hammer:
+30hp
15% damage while health > 50%
-5 life steal
-1 health regen
Attributes:
Hammer mastery: 11+1+3
Strength: 9
Tactics: 8+1
Skills:
Devastating hammer
crushing blow
Hammer bash
Wild blow
Tiger stance
Flail
Sprint
Res sig
How it's supposed to work:
First I run into the frey, then I cast tiger stance and pummel away. When tiger stance ends I have enough adrenaline to do Devastating hammer+crushing blow and to activate flail. After building enough adrenaline again I do devastating-crushing-hammer bash-wild blow for double KD, deep wound and guaranteed critical. Since hammer bash makes me loose all adrenaline theres no trouble in using wild blow to end the combo and it also helps a great deal against pesky ranger stances.
As I already said, critique from seasoned warriors is welcome, I'm still experimenting.

If you're a wammo....I have a couple of questions...
1. Where's Echo?
2. Where's Mending?
3. Where's Healing Signet {Elite}?
4. WHY are you using Resurrection Signet when you're secondary is friggin' monk!?!?
As for the rest of the build, I can't comment...I'm only just starting to look into Hammers myself...so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

I can't comment on the hammer skills as I've never played hammer, but I would replace Tiger Stance and Sprint with [skill]Enraging Charge[/skill]. Should free up a slot for utility.

I probably wouldn't bring wild blow, as you'd want to use it BEFORE you use your adrenaline. Why are you bringing two IASs though?
Looks fine other than that to be honest. I'd bring a hard rez and swap wild blow for prot strike to help you build adrenaline and do nice pressure damage.

Yes... no Healing Prayers... good start. As this is a PvE build, you could drop both Tiger Stance and Sprint for Enraging Charge - it'll give you enough adrenaline from the start to charge Flail, skipping Tiger Stance completely.
This then frees up a skill slot for utility!
[skill]Distracting Blow[/skill][skill]Mending Touch[/skill][skill]Healing Signet[/skill][skill]"Watch Yourself!"[/skill] or whatever else looks remotely useful.
Your attack chain is OK... Personally, I prefer more damage (Forceful Blow --> Crushing Blow --> Heavy Blow), but having 2 knockdowns is cute too. Counter Blow can be pretty good PvE-wise, all foes, even healer enemies, will wand you between spells, giving you plenty of oppurtunties to KD. In areas with few dodging stances, you could drop Wild Blow for another attack skill too.
And... Res is personal preference - I prefer Res sigs whether I'm /Mo or not. I'm too good to be wiped to need Rebirth
Also... Have you done the quests giving you 15 attribute points? The normal spread is 12/10/8 before runes.
Anyways.... Best nooblar build evar! Keep up the good work.

It looks kind of nice, but if it's for PvE, why no Enraged Smash? And since you don't use any skills from a secondary, why no hard rez?
But I can see why you want to keep it as it is. All I can think of (that hasn't been mentioned yet) is to take out Wild Blow and let the combo instead be:
Devastating -> Crushing -> Fierce Blow (new) -> Hammer Bash
And um, you have no tactics skills and no shield, drop tactics to 0 -.-

Even a donkey can do the math
Glad people arent recommending brainless tank builds but use their warrior to actually kill stuff .

You're the second one to suggest that, makes sense too, I'm definitely going to look at that one. I think it's gonna be mending touch as utility then (Afflicted rangers suck, really).

True, imo there are 2 kinds of resses:
in battle res: when a key character dies it must be on its feet with full health asap.
Shit-hits-the-fan res after wipe: Something like rebirth used to get the party back up. Mostly used by the last man standing, being not the warrior most of the time.

LOL I really missed that, I steamed through 2 campaigns without extra points :P

The 2 factions quests are found in Ran Musu Gardens and Seitung Harbour. There's some Canthan dude in Ran Musu, and the 2nd quest is from zunraa - you'll have to ring the bell in Seitung to summon it.

Cool, thx for the head's up. Normally I would just do these quests anyway, I just didn't know that THOSE were the attribute quests.
Some other question: What's better to use for hammer, sundering or vampiric? same for axe.

Vampiric is a better mod overall for DPS.
That's not to discount sundering entirely, it's a good weapon to switch to, and critical sundering procs with a hammer *do* have the potential for some heavy hits (not quite so good as a scythe where you can happily spam Wild Blow on recharge...). The best best option would be to have a vamp hammer for now, save up some cash and get yourself furious, elemental and sundering switches.

i think its a crime to not run
[card]Fierce Blow[/card]
when running a dev hammer build. dev -> crushing -> fierce is just so damn sexy. and while i like hammer bash, for pve, you could probably get away with just counter blow. you are gonna find every single enemy attacking in between casts. im also with everyone else, enraging charge for both tigers and sprint.
as for the weapon, i dont mind sundering so much. vamp has a potentially higher DPS, and in areas without much blocking, it should be easy to achieve it, especially with an IAS. in a lot of areas, however, you may find sundering to be a good alternative to vamp (if your attacks arent landing you arent doing your bonus dmg, plus you are slowly losing life). although you can usually solve these kind of issues with a simple swap. i use a furious mod usually on my dev hammer though, so whatever. good to have one of every major mod (sundering, vamp, furious, elemental) for two reasons: gives you plenty of options in different areas, plus the ability to collect an assortment of different hammer skin. its pve, what else is there to spend your plats on other than a few pretty things.
